The global organic personal care market is expected to reach USD 15.98 billion by 2020, according to this new report by Grand View Research, Inc.

A growing demand for organic and natural hair care, skin care and cosmetic products is expected over the projected period.

What’s fueling market growth? Approval from human health & safety regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and FDA for the use of organic products in various personal care products, says the report.

There has also been technological innovations aimed at the developing cost-effective product lines by companies such as The Body Shop, Aveda Corporation, Amway and Estee Lauder – and these are expected to remain critical to the growth of the industry.

Consumers are also more aware of ingredients in products, and are looking for chemical free alternatives.

Organic skin care products are expected to show significant gains over the forecast period. The  segment is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.8% from 2014 to 2020.

Organic cosmetics generated revenues exceeding USD 1.80 billion in 2013.

North America dominated the global market and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.8% from 2014 to 2020.
